It’s an exciting time to be in American industry. A report earlier this year from automation firm Medius indicates that over two-thirds of American manufacturers that moved operations abroad are beginning to bring them back stateside, in what is increasingly known as ‘reshoring.’ Weaknesses in the supply chain exposed by COVID and geopolitical volatility, along with enacted legislation that incentivizes reshoring and retrofitting equipment and infrastructure at factories across the country, brought companies back to the US. 

Along with reshoring comes jobs and real economic stimulus to cities nationwide, including some Rust Belt cities where factories closing and manufacturing leaving resulted in a gaping economic and cultural hole. It’s great to see companies recognize the importance of American products made in American cities by American workers. 

At the same time, some of us never left.

We’re excited to see jobs coming back stateside, but it’s also a reminder that we’ve been here the whole time. What’s more, we’re in it for the long haul.
