What makes a Safe-T-Cover enclosure the best option for pumps, backflow enclosures, control valves and just about anything else that needs protection from the year-round threats of weather, vandalism or theft, or animal infestation? 

It starts with what Safe-T-Cover’s made of: marine-grade aluminum and sustainably harvested California redwood bracing, then lined with our polyisocyanurate insulation that won’t brittle, deteriorate or peel off.

But that’s just the beginning. It’s our features and accessories that take an already superior enclosure product and put it on a level well beyond the competition.

Heaters

To meet ASSE 1060 Class 1 specifications, an enclosure must be able to maintain a minimum internal temperature of 40℉ at an external temperature of -30℉ with a minimum thermal resistance value (R-value) of eight (8).

Safe-T-Cover enclosures, when equipped with our exclusive slab-mounted heater, meet these demanding criteria. Where many enclosure heaters in the industry are wall- or panel-mounted, and we do offer some wall-mountable heater options, these cannot be as effective protecting pumps and backflows against freezing conditions and do not meet ASSE 1060 standards for protection. Our wet/damp resistant, ASSE Class 1-conforming heater option is more than up to the task.

Ventilation Options

As important as keeping your waterworks equipment protected from freezing is keeping equipment properly ventilated during the hot summer months.

Our dampers and exhaust fans promote air flow through your enclosure, ensuring your equipment is not only secured, but at an optimal temperature to perform when needed. Creating openings in our aluminum enclosure panels for proper ventilation or pipe penetrations is an easier task than you may realize, while these panels retain their outstanding protective characteristics and capabilities.

The shutter mount exhaust fan mounts inside the enclosure panel and has a direct drive motor for reliable operation. When paired with an insulated backdraft damper on the opposite panel, air moves freely through the enclosure while keeping wildlife out.

Locking Systems

Your run-of-the-mill padlock or conventional key or combination lock isn’t good enough for commercial or municipal grade applications. 

Safe-T-Cover’s patented MUNI-LOK vault key system is the best security countermeasure for utility enclosures on the market.

95% of all enclosures are never locked. Be prepared with something more than something you can get at a hardware store.

Alarms and Monitoring

Protecting against theft, vandalism or freezing is one thing, but proactive protection is a step beyond the standard. We recommend temperature sensors and monitoring solutions in large-scale enclosure deployment situations where personal inspection or oversight is impractical.

Our in-house TAPF alarm system is powered by the same 120V service that supplies heat to an enclosure and features a visual signal and alarm to indicate power loss or temperatures that exceed set thresholds.

For more robust features and functionality, we offer Sensaphone monitoring systems, with support for third-party sensors, audit and event logging, cell-connected alerts, and multi-point detection beyond set temperature fields.

At Safe-T-Cover, we believe enclosures shouldn’t just function, they should look good, too.

Our standard enclosures come in four available colors, with more options available at a charge from our partners at PAC-CLAD. These aren’t painted aluminum panels; coloring is chemically bonded to the material itself, meaning that the color you choose won’t fade or deteriorate over time. Like the enclosure itself, the looks are built to last.

We also offer custom vinyl-wrapped graphics, so that your enclosures can blend into the environment or stand out as part of your overall architectural design.
